Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

InQik GBP Inspector (“the Extension”) is developed and maintained by InQik (“we”, “us”, “our”), a business registered at SH Pearl Aura Building, Near MOS Church, Udupi 576101, IN.

This privacy policy explains what the Extension does, how it works, and your rights.

2. How the Extension Works

The Extension computes an optimization audit score for Google Business Profile listings on Google Maps. It does this by checking whether certain profile elements are present on the page you are currently viewing.

These are boolean presence checks only. For example, the Extension checks “does a phone number element exist on this page?” and records the answer as yes or no. It does NOT read, extract, or store the actual phone number, address, website URL, review text, category names, attribute names, or any other text content from the listing.

The only information the Extension reads from the page:

• The business name (from the browser tab title, using the standard document.title API)
• Whether specific page elements exist (yes/no boolean checks)
• Aggregate numbers from accessibility labels (rating, review count, photo count) which are used internally for score computation but are NOT displayed or stored

All of this information is used exclusively to compute an audit score (a number from 0 to 100) and generate a pass/fail checklist.

3. What the Extension Displays

The Extension's side panel shows only:

• An audit score (a number from 0 to 100)
• A checklist of pass/fail indicators (e.g., “Phone number: OK” or “Phone number: Missing”)
• The business name (from the browser tab title)
• General optimization tips (text written by InQik, not sourced from Google Maps)

No Google Maps content is reproduced, displayed, or made available in the Extension's interface.

4. Data We Do NOT Collect

The Extension does NOT:

• Extract, display, or store addresses, phone numbers, website URLs, review text, category names, attribute names, or any other text content from Google Maps
• Collect, store, or transmit any personal information
• Track your browsing history or activity
• Use cookies, analytics, or advertising frameworks
• Access any pages other than Google Maps business listings
• Send any data to external servers
• Use any Google APIs
• Record keystrokes, form data, or authentication tokens
• Export data in any format (no CSV, no images, no clipboard copying)
• Use Chrome's storage API (chrome.storage)

All data processing happens entirely within your browser. No data leaves your device.

5. Optional Email Collection

If you voluntarily provide your email address (for example, to subscribe to optimization tips on our welcome page), the following applies:

• Your email is transmitted via encrypted HTTPS to InQik's servers
• It is stored securely and used only to send the content you requested
• You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email
• You can request deletion by emailing privacy@inqik.com
• We will never sell, rent, or share your email with third parties

6. Permissions

The Extension requests only the following permissions:

• Host permissions (google.com/maps only): To run boolean presence checks on business listing pages for score computation
• sidePanel: To display the audit score and checklist in Chrome's built-in side panel
• activeTab: To detect when you are on a Google Maps page

No broader permissions are requested. The Extension cannot access other websites, your browsing history, or any data outside of Google Maps pages.

7. Data Retention

No data is retained beyond the current browsing session. When you close the tab or navigate away, all computed scores are discarded from memory. The Extension does not use any storage mechanism.

8. Children's Privacy

The Extension is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

9. Google API Services Compliance

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated date. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance.
